Welcome to Dr. Schlieper!

To better serve our patients, we’ve added a fantastic new doctor to our team of professionals at Primary Eyecare. Dr. Schlieper grew up in Topsham, Maine and earned a B.A in Biology, cum laude, from the University of Maine at Farmington. She spent several years supporting research efforts and held positions in laboratory management and safety compliance at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts before attending the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she earned her Doctorate in Optometry.

Dr. Schlieper completed a post-graduate residency from Indiana University School of Optometry sponsored by the University of Virginia, in Ocular Disease with an Emphasis in Cornea and Specialty Contact lenses. Upon completion of her residency at UVA she joined the team at Primary Eyecare.

Dr. Schlieper enjoys seeing patients young and old and has a keen interest in ocular disease, including Keratoconus, dry eyes, host vs. graft disease, Pellucid Marginal Degeneration, and other corneal conditions. She has a great depth of knowledge and experience fitting scleral and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Schlieper is a Scleral Lens Education Society Fellowship candidate and an American Academy of Optometry Fellowship candidate. She is actively working toward her affiliation in both organizations.

Dr. Schlieper enjoys outdoor activities that include hiking and swimming, and all things creative-painting, writing, sewing, drawing-and has even illustrated a children’s book.

We are pleased to have Dr. Schlieper as part of our team!
